Terms & Conditions

AVS Catering, Inc. provides responsible alcoholic beverage service to all guests. Our policies are consistent with the North Carolina Alcohol Beverage Control statutes. We will not serve individuals who appear to be intoxicated or those who cannot provide proper identification upon request.

A summary of AVSC Alcohol Policy will be posted for the duration of bar service. Since we are a commercial facility, it is within our responsibility to have ultimate control over the service of alcoholic beverages, no matter who may have purchased or be serving them and will exercise that control at our discretion.

Beer, unfortified wine and champagne are permitted at AVSC with a qualified bartender. Mixed drinks (liquor or fortified wine) are NOT permitted. Bartenders must serve all alcohol being consumed.

The Bartender’s prime responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:

  • Initial setup of bar, including alcohol inventory and placement.
  • Remaining at bar service area at ALL times, unless a substitute is present.
  • Prevention of Client(s) or Guest(s) from serving themselves from any alcoholic container or storage item.
  • Request for Client or Guest ID as required by Law.
  • Surveillance of tables to note any partial containers of alcohol and notification to wait staff for removal.
  • Refusal of service to any person(s) he/she identifies as overly intoxicated. Bartender should notify Client or Client’s Designated Representative prior to exercising this right. Notification to AVSC management of any violations by Client(s) or Guest(s) of its Alcohol Policy. Bartender’s decision regarding cessation of service to any Client or Guest will be regarded as his/her professional decision and will be supported by AVSC management. AVSC management will enforce removal of any Client or Guest from the premises based on Bartender recommendation.

 

Food and nonalcoholic beverages must be made available at all Events where alcohol is served. We encourage patrons to utilize the designated driver program for such Events.

We reserve the right to monitor all alcohol consumption, to ask for proper identification, and to refuse service to any visibly intoxicated person.

Hours of Sale and Consumption: In North Carolina, the law allows alcohol to be sold or served from 7am-2am, with consumption being allowed until 2:30am. (For on-premise permittee’s only.) On Sunday sales and consumption of alcoholic beverages shall not be allowed until 12 noon. For all parties: The bar will close 1 hour prior to the end of your event.

A deposit of 50% is required on all parties where alcohol is served. (50% of the total party.) We also require a valid credit card to be kept on file.
